It’s hard to picture a more perfect summer afternoon than lying beside the pool with a good book and a wine and cheese social to look forward to later that evening – also poolside. But what if that pool was just short drive or even a few steps from your dream home? Wouldn’t it be great if your kids met a great group of friends there and joined a fun, active swim team? Olney has a handful of great community pools – here are just a few highlights:
- Look no further than Olney Mill Swim Club for adult and family social events and a stellar swim team. Located in the heart of the established Olney Mill neighborhood, Olney Mill Swim Club is a recently upgraded facility – having undergone extensive beautification and improvement reconstruction in 2008. Members can also rent the facility on a limited basis for parties and events. Olney Mill residents are given membership priority but other community residents are welcome to apply for membership.
- Gorgeous Norbeck Grove’s pool looks like something out of a destination resort. Neighborhood residents are the only permitted members and there is a clubhouse right next to the pool which residents can rent for parties and events. The Barracudas swim team is a great place for kids to spend their summer – staying active and meeting new friends!
- On Prince Philip Drive, Hallowell residents can enjoy the community pool, whose membership is included in monthly HOA assessments. The Hallowell Hurricanes, which have taken the Olney swimming world by storm since 1991, will compete in Division C during this summer’s 2013 season.
- For the peaceful, country club pool environment in Olney, head to Norbeck Country Club off of Cashell Road. It’s hard to beat their poolside cabana service, sand volleyball courts and lounging area, in addition to the Norbeck Neptunes swim team which compete in the Metropolitan Washington Country Club swim league.
- Just outside of Olney in historic Brookeville is the Tanterra neighborhood pool. The facility was updated in fall 2012 and includes sand volleyball courts, a pavilion and even horseshoe pits! The Tanterra Tarpons include both swim and dive teams and compete within the Montgomery County Swim League and the Montgomery County Dive League.
There are many other pools in the Olney area, including the Olney Swim Center indoor facility which hosts aquatic fitness classes, swim lessons and much more. The Speicher Group is ready to help you find your dream home just in time for the summer. Contact us today!
