Being only 20 minutes from our nation’s capitol, Rockville is not only a fantastic place for D.C.-area residents to visit, it’s also a proudly patriotic community that puts on one of the best Fourth of July fireworks shows in all of Maryland!
This year’s ceremonies will take place at Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus, located at 51 Mannakee Street. The event will kick-off with the sounds of the Fugitive Brass Quintet at 7 p.m., followed by the fine stepping of the Pinneberg Dancers at 7:30 p.m., the Rockville Concert at Band at 8 p.m., and then, you guessed it, the main fireworks event that everyone is counting down to at 9:15 p.m., after darkness has set in.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for the first-come, first-served seating. A picnic basket with some eats that won’t spoil if it’s a hot night as well as some cold beverages (non-alcoholic) are also a great idea. The city of Rockville will be placing garbage bins throughout the grounds to help Rockville homeowners and event-goers keep their beloved community clean.
The city also has a list of a few restrictions and things to keep in mind for the event:
- The Fireworks show is an alcohol-free event.
- No barbecuing or open flames of any kind are allowed.
- Remember that there is a First Aid booth for any injuries or in the case that you need to locate a missing child.
- This is a recycling-friendly event!
The Fourth of July in Rockville is a special time year.
