Vivid sound comes to life at the Cezanne Piano Trio concert on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ in Bethesda, MD.
A perfect prelude to a romantic February, the Cezanne Piano Trio concert is part of the Washington Conservatory Piano, Plus! Concert Series.
The Program
The trio’s concert is slated to include Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1 in d minor, Opus 49; Shostakovich Piano Trio No. 2 in e minor, Opus 67 and Haydn’s Piano Trio in C Major, Hob. XV/27.
The Musicians
Violinist Kevin Jang, cellist Danielle Cho and pianist Martin Labazevitch are all acclaimed musicians and faculty members of the Washington Conservatory of Music. Jang holds a doctoral degree in music from Catholic University and performed as a soloist for the Aspen Mozart Orchestra and the Cascade Festival Orchestra.
Cho performs with the Palau de Les Arts Orchestra in Valencia, Spain, the Sarasota Opera and the Washington National Opera. Earning music degrees at University of Southern California Thornton School of Music and New England Conservatory, Cho was a Fulbright Scholar.
Labazevitch holds advanced music degrees from Manhattan School of Music and is an international soloist with credits including Rzeszow Philharmonic Orchestra in Poland, Joven Orquesta Nacional and Orquesta Joven de Andalucia in Spain and TIPC Symphony Orchestra in Japan.
Concert Details
The Feb. 1 concert is scheduled to run from 8 to 10 p.m. Entrance is free of charge, although donations to the Washington Conservatory of Music will be accepted at the door. Reservations are not required.
Getting to the Venue
The Westmoreland Congregation of the United Church of Christ is located at 1 Westmoreland Circle in Bethesda. On the border of Bethesda and Washington, D.C., the church rests on the circle intersection of Massachusetts and Western avenues near Dalecarlia Parkway Park.
Those driving to the venue may find limited parking in the lot at the corner of Duvall Drive and Massachusetts Avenue and additional parking along Dalecarlia Drive, Duvall Drive and Wetherill Road. The church is on Metrobus routes N3, N4 and N6 and is also on the Ride-on Bus route 29.
