If you’re a Rockville home owner who’s ever had a health-conscious relative from, say, the West Coast come to stay in your area and you’ve wanted to find accommodations that tailor perfectly to their needs, your dilemma is soon to be over.
Hotels and dwelling areas that place an emphasis on maintaining an active and diet-conscious lifestyle have become a growing trend in the United States as out-of-towners seem to be more eager to keep up their fitness routines when traveling. And while many national markets have responded with lodging facilities that take in mind these preferences, Rockville can now join the club thanks to the new EVEN Hotel branch that will come to the Twinbrook area in the near future.
The Rockville EVEN Hotel is slated to open in early 2013 at 1775 Rockville Pike, and will include 167 rooms on seven floors in the space that was formerly a Holiday Inn Express. Proposing a more affluent vibe than that chain, the EVEN space will boast mood lighting achieved through LED lights, eco-friendly design materials, an emphasis on healthy food to be served in the hotel, natural bath products for visitors, and much more.

Also lending to the hotel’s “wellness” angle are a full-service gym, fitness classes and training, and in-room fitness products and facilities so that those looking to stay in shape can do so during all hours of their busy day in the Rockville area. Spokespeople for EVEN Hotels said that prices should be on par with what customers expect to pay at places like Courtyard by Marriott and Hilton Garden Inn. Additionally, they say they chose Rockville because they saw it as a place with a “high wellness-minded resident and traveler base.”
EVEN Hotels began in February of 2012 through the InterContinental Hotels Group, and two facilities are also underway in New York City.
