In a nutshell,  new research says that  September is the best time to be a buyer – there are more houses on the market, less people competing for them, and low interest rates (they’ve dropped since June).
For Howard and Montgomery Counties, housing inventory is actually at its peak from August to October, but many buyers drop out of the market in August once school has started.  So in September you have the most options available, and less competition than earlier in the year.
