In October, Cmdr. Damskey, the new District 4 Commander, visited with greater Olney business leaders and residents at an open house at the Olney MD Police Satellite Station. He answered questions about crime in Olney, speeding, and the viability of the Olney MD Police Satellite Station. Cmdr. Damskey reported that he feels the station is a valuable resource for the community and the officers are now starting their day at the station in Olney instead of Wheaton. Regarding crime, speeding, and other police concerns, he said the key is communication. He said if his officers don’t know what and where the problems are, then they cannot react to them.
