The Speicher Group is excited to be sponsoring the Potomac Hunt Races this year on May 17th – a great Maryland tradition celebrating the sport of steeplechase racing. The beneficiary of the event this year is TAPS, and once we found out about the wonderful work this group does, we couldn’t be happier to help support their mission.
TAPS provides comfort and care to anyone grieving the death of a loved one who has served in the Armed Forces. Survivors help other survivors heal through TAPS Good Grief Camps, Survivor Seminars, mentorship, counseling and care groups.
I think the feedback of this mother who lost her son, shows the kind of impact that TAPS has had in her life.
“With the tragic news of losing all of these men in a helicopter accident, my mind raced through the things I could do [for them].… The best thing I can do is to send a card and enclose the most valuable gift that I have…. the number for TAPS. For you see, without TAPS, I would not have my strongest support group. I would not have someone who would listen to me any time of the day. I would not have a mentor. I would not always have a hand to reach out to me and help me through this journey called grief. I would not have unconditional understanding and love. My gift to them would be the best gift I received… TAPS.”
TAPS is a community of fellow survivors, sharing the memory of loved ones and finding support.
