Grosvenor Park, Rockville, MD

Grosvenor Park, located in North Bethesda, MD is a well-designed combination of urban convenience and park-like living. It was built on a small piece of the former estate of National Geographic founder Gilbert Grosvenor. Located just off Rockville Pike between Grosvenor and Tuckerman Lanes, and bounded to the west by the Beltway (I-495), the community consists of a single road, Grosvenor Place, with high-rise condominium and rental apartment buildings on the eastern side and winding lanes of town homes and garden apartments on the west.

White-tailed deer are often spotted grazing in the wooded area that borders the western side of the community, creating a feeling of country living in the busy Washington, D.C. suburbs.

Convenience and Ease

One of the best things about living in Grosvenor Park is the convenience. The Grosvenor Metro station, on the Red Line, is located across Rockville Pike, and a pedestrian tunnel provides safe access to Grosvenor Park residents. The number 6 Ride-On bus, which travels between the Grosvenor Metro station and Westfield Montgomery Mall, makes several stops along Grosvenor Place.

The Beltway is seconds away, as are Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Road, both major driving routes to the District of Columbia, downtown Bethesda, Rockville and more. The community has its own dry cleaner, hair salon and even a grocery store. The award-winning Grosvenor Market is a popular, family-run market with a deli, bakery and excellent beer and wine selection.

Types of Homes

The original Grosvenor Park condominium building, Grosvenor Park I, was built in 1964. There are now five high rise buildings, 214 garden apartments and 186 town homes in the community. Each high rise has around 400 apartments, ranging from studios to penthouses and apartments with terraces. Underground and outdoor parking spaces are available in all buildings.

Two of the five high-rises are newer rental buildings offering similar amenities. The community’s town homes are built in a charming colonial style and have between two and four bedrooms, washer-dryers and assigned parking.

Active Lifestyle

The Grosvenor Park community enjoys access to several outdoor pools and tennis courts. Each high-rise has a roof lounge, outdoor terrace and exercise room. Playgrounds and walking paths are scattered throughout the neighborhood.

And, best of all, residents benefit from close proximity to Rock Creek Park, a national park that consists of a narrow band of winding, wooded land that ends in downtown Washington D.C. Beach Drive, the main thoroughfare through the park, is located directly across Rockville Pike from Grosvenor Park. The park offers miles of hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds and nature centers.

The shops and restaurants of downtown Bethesda and Rockville are minutes away, as are the sights and cultural opportunities of Washington D.C. Closer by, there are abundant shopping and dining options along Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Road. The community is served by the highly sought-after Montgomery County public school system as well as many private and parochial schools.
