The Parklands area has more than a hundred town homes designed for exquisite family living.

Neighborhoods

There are several neighborhoods around the city of Gaithersburg including Montgomery Village, Kentlands, Washingtonian Center, Washington Grove, Rockville, Germantown, Clarksburg, Darnestown, Redland, and North Potomac.

Most of these neighborhoods are diverse cultures of young, tech savvy families. There are many software companies and government contracted technology companies located all around the city. Gaithersburg is just about twenty minutes from Washington D.C. and has a very patriotic make-up.

Schools

Parklands is part of the Montgomery County Public School District. The schools that children attend from this area are Brown Station Elementary School, Lakelands Park Middle School, and Quince Orchard High School. Parklands has over 100 townhouses and there are plenty of children to socialize and go to school with.

Attractions

Some of the patriotic sites that are great to visit are the Antietam National Battlefield, Fort McHenry National Monument, and the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.

The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, Assateague Island National Seashore, Harpers Ferry, the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains, Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Chesapeake Bay, and Ocean City beachfront offers many exciting festivities including parades, shopping, theater, museums, historical gatherings, hiking, swimming, boating, dining, and many more activities.

Outdoor activities

Golf, tennis, and swimming are all readily available in and around Gaithersburg. Sterling Golf and Swim Club offer plenty of exercise on an expansive 18-hole course. Eastgate Swim and Tennis Club, Bullis Tennis Center, and Potomac Swim and Recreation Association all have excellent rated facilities.

Parks

Fairfield West Deer Park is located near Parklands and offers families a quiet place to relax and enjoy nature. Cabin John Regional Park is located just five minutes outside of D.C. and has a scenic bike trail with five miles to exercise on; a quiet reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the Capital.

Riverbend Park, located in Great Falls, VA, is close enough for a mini-vacation full of fishing and climbing; there are over 400 acres to explore and traverse.

Things to do

Boot camp classes, wine tasting, food sampling, yoga classes, and dancing are some of the few activities that are popular in and around Parklands. Martial arts, kickboxing, rock climbing, paint ball, and body transformation classes are all offered too.
